A major milestone achieved — where innovation, collaboration, and purpose came together to shape the future of ethical AI in youth work.
The Generative AI – Youth Sector Challenges and Impact project, implemented within the Erasmus+ Programme, is a cross-regional initiative designed to explore how artificial intelligence can be used responsibly to address real challenges faced by young people.
Bringing together partners from across Europe and the Mediterranean, the project focuses on equipping youth and youth workers with the skills, tools, and critical understanding needed to navigate and shape digital spaces.
At its core, the project tackles urgent issues such as hate speech, misinformation, and online exclusion — positioning youth as key actors in building safer and more inclusive digital environments.
We are proud to announce the successful completion of the National Social Hackathon – Together for the Future, a central activity within the project.
Designed as a structured, multi-phase learning journey, the hackathon brought together youth workers, students, educators, and professionals in a collaborative space where ideas were transformed into practical, AI-driven solutions.
Over the course of the programme, participants engaged in:
This approach ensured that the hackathon was not just an event — but a meaningful process of learning, experimentation, and application.
From the very first day, the hackathon was defined by energy, creativity, and strong collaboration.
Participants worked in multidisciplinary teams, combining technical knowledge with social insight to address complex digital issues. The focus remained clear throughout: using generative AI as a tool for social good.
Key moments included:
The hackathon environment encouraged not only innovation, but also critical thinking around ethics, inclusion, and responsibility in AI use.
The results of the hackathon reflect the strength of youth-led collaboration:
More importantly, participants demonstrated that technology becomes truly impactful when guided by human values — empathy, inclusion, and social responsibility.
The hackathon marks an important step — but not the end of the journey.
Selected teams will move forward to represent Jordan in the upcoming international social hackathon in Italy, where they will collaborate with peers from partner countries and further develop their ideas on a regional level.
This next phase will expand both the reach and impact of the solutions developed, contributing to a broader dialogue on the role of AI in youth work.
The Generative AI Hackathon has shown what is possible when young people are given the tools, space, and trust to lead.
It is not only about innovation — but about shaping a future where technology serves people, strengthens communities, and promotes inclusive digital environments.
