Call for Youth Participation: Shape Jordan’s Agrifood Policy Future 

The Jordan Youth Innovation Forum (JYIF), in strategic partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), is pleased to announce an open call for young leaders to participate in an exclusive Youth Policy Lab on Agrifood Transformation. 

This high-level session will take place as part of the national “Future Pathways” event and offers a unique opportunity for youth to contribute directly to policy development addressing one of Jordan’s most critical priorities: sustainable agrifood systems under conditions of water scarcity.

About the Youth Policy Lab 

The Youth Policy Lab is designed as an intensive, expert-led Solution Forum, bringing together selected participants to collaboratively draft a formal Youth Policy Statement. The outcomes of this lab will be submitted to national decision-makers and elevated to the global level through the World Food Forum (WFF) Youth Assembly. 

The session will be facilitated by Dr. Issam Qrunfleh, a leading national expert in water resources and horticulture, ensuring evidence-based discussion and actionable policy recommendations.

This initiative reflects a strong collaboration aimed at translating youth perspectives into measurable impact: 

• Host – Jordan Youth Innovation Forum (JYIF): Empowering youth as drivers of innovation and national development. 

• Policy Partner – FAO: Linking youth dialogue to national strategies and the FAO–UNIDO Joint Programme. 

• Global Platform – World Food Forum (WFF): Showcasing outcomes to an international youth and policy audience.

Who Should Apply 

Applications are open to committed young leaders aged 18–35, including but not limited to: 

• Young professionals and entrepreneurs in agribusiness, agri-tech, water management, or sustainable horticulture 

• Farmers and producers applying innovative or climate-resilient practices 

• University students in agriculture, engineering, environmental sciences, business, or development studies 

• Youth advocates engaged in climate action, food security, or rural development 

• Innovators with solutions for a more resilient and efficient agrifood system 

A diverse group of participants will be selected to ensure a balanced and productive policy dialogue.

How to Apply 

Participation is selective. Interested candidates are required to complete a brief application form, including a short statement (approximately 250 words) outlining their perspective on youth opportunities in Jordan’s agrifood transformation. 

• Application Deadline: 20 December 2025, 20:00 PM (Jordan Time) 

• Selected applicants will be notified by 21 December 2025 and will receive a preparatory information pack.
